we are
The Pooh Bear Reading Assistance Society is a local voluntary organisation
based in the City of Hull, East
Yorkshire that provides valuable one-to-one reading support to
children who find reading difficult.
Our
aim
Working in schools, family homes, reading clubs and other settings,
volunteers aim to build confidence and develop reading skills through
sharing and enjoying books together.
Who
can volunteer?
YOU CAN , if you enjoy books yourself and care about children. You don't
need 'paper' qualifications but you do need enthusiasm, patience and
commitment. Pooh Bear RAS volunteers are men and women of all ages, from
all walks of life and backgrounds.
Our
volunteers support children and young people with their reading in local
schools, reading clubs, family homes and other settings, whichever fits in
with their availability.
